Crypto 3

Crypto destroying all humans.

Cryptosporidium is a Furon invader armed with powerful psychic abilities and advanced alien technology, making him an effective soldier of the Furon Empire.

Ground Equipment[]

Furons' small and physically frail bodies are unable to last long on a battlefield without assistance. To compensate, Cryptosporidium uses technology when fighting enemies or performing tasks on foot.

Jetpack and Shields[]

On the battlefield, Crypto's survival can be attributed not only to his array of weaponry, but his two most essential pieces of tactical machinery: The jetpack which provides a great deal of Crypto's mobility and allows him to ascend to great heights as well as cover ground even faster on land, and his shield generator that protects Crypto from damage, but has a limited power supply and continued damage will cause it to momentarily shut down, unless Crypto avoids taking damage until it recharges.

Dash[]

Exclusive to the remakes, the Dash move allows Crypto to boost himself in any direction to dodge projectiles, even create shockwaves that push back enemies. The S.K.A.T.E. upgrade extends the dash, allowing him to skate on the ground for a short moment and travel faster than by walking normally.

Weapons[]

Zapomatic12

Cryptosporidium-138 with the Zap-O-Matic.

Cryptosporidium's arsenal contains a variety of advanced Furon technology he uses to annihilate his enemies.

Destroy All Humans![]

The weapons shown below consists of Crypto's complete arsenal in the first game, and they have appeared in all the later games in addition to the newer weapons.

  • Zap-O-Matic: The first weapon Crypto receives, the Zap-O-Matic is capable of directing continuous bolts of electricity at targets to deal damage. Though using this weapon depletes its battery, it recharges rather quickly.
  • Anal Probe: The Anal Probe does what the name implies. It launches a probe that lodges itself into a human's unmentionables, extracting their brainstem. This weapon has a limited number of probes that you must either wait to recover or starting from Destroy All Humans! 2, recharge with ammo pickups.
  • Disintegrator Ray: The Disintegrator Ray allows Crypto to fire molten balls of plasma energy at enemies. It's time to kill humans and destroy vehicles is far quicker than the Zap-O-Matic but has limited ammo that must be collected around the battlefield and through transmogrification.
  • Ion Detonator: The Ion Detonator launches a powerful bomb that explodes after either manual detonation or a brief countdown, vaporizing humans and vehicles in its wake. Like the Disintegrator Ray, it has limited ammo. In Path of the Furon, Pox retooled this weapon to be fired when Crypto stops time.

Destroy All Humans! 2[]

  • Dislocator: The Dislocator launches purple gravity-defying disks capable of bouncing victims off walls and other objects. Like the Zap-O-Matic and the original Anal Probe, it regenerates its ammo.
  • Meteor Strike: The Meteor Strike sends meteors toward the surface of the planet on a target Crypto chooses, causing catastrophic damage. Crypto's only non-Saucer weapon capable of destroying buildings.
  • Gastro: Launches a hologram unit with the Furon motherships' janitor and cook Gastroenteritis' consciousness installed on it. This hologram unit distracts enemies with plasma bolts and bombs, acting as a sort of mobile turret.
  • Burrow Beast: Lobs out a lure that attracts a ravenous underground worm that eats anybody nearby. The lure can be psychokinetically moved or transmogrified. This weapon can only be unlocked after finding 30 alien artifacts and completing all Cult of Arkvoodle missions.

Destroy All Humans!: Big Willy Unleashed[]

  • Ball Lightning: The Ball Lightning launches a slow-moving ball of electricity capable of zapping mutiple enemies at once.
  • Zombie Gun: The Zombie Gun's blasts turn humans into ravenous zombies that attack and try to infect other humans.
  • Shrink Ray: The Shrink Ray... shrinks things! Revolutionary, isn't it?

Destroy all Humans!: Path of the Furon[]

  • Superballer: Similar to the Dislocator, the Superballer picks things up and bounces them around. Unlike the Dislocator, however, it bounces things along an arc instead of in a line.
  • Venus Human Trap: The Venus Human Trap launches a plant spore that grows into a ravenous plant monster that eats people and vehicles - similar to the Burrow Beast. Unlike the Burrow Beast, however, this monster is stationary and cannot be moved.
  • Black Hole Gun: The Black Hole Gun creates a... you guessed it! A black hole at a designated location, which pulls in anything nearby before exploding.

Destroy All Humans!: Crypto Does Vegas[]

  • Gloom Gun: The Gloom Gun stuns humans with purple beams of petrifying depression.
  • Plasma Blaster: The Plasma Blaster creates a large stream of scorching plasma capable of vaporizing many targets at once.
  • Disintegrator Grenades: As implied by its name, the Disintegrator Grenades completely destroy any humans caught in its blast.

Mental Abilities[]

PK 2

Crypto's mental powers.

The Furons' unique genetic makeup and mastery over bioengineering has led them to develop potent psychic abilities, of which Cryptosporidium is quite fluent. In Destroy All Humans!, the ability to use these mental abilities was limited by concentration, but this has changed throughout the series.

Alongside Orthopox's genetic augmentation, Crypto also improves the power of his mental abilities in Path of the Furon through the Master's training.

  • Cortex Scan: Allows Crypto to peer into the minds of humans and read their thoughts to obtain useful hints. It is also used to make Crypto's disguise abilities last longer and depending on the game, they may be unusable outside of said disguise ability. Absent in Big Willy Unleashed.
  • Psychokinesis: Shortened to "PK," psychokinesis allows Crypto to lift and move objects and people in his environment. This can be used in combat to throw objects and people and move objects to specific spots. It also lets him hack and disable technology without touching them. Only in the remakes, PK also allows Crypto to catch and redirect rockets and grenades thrown at him.
    • PK Hold: Levitating and holding an object using PK.
    • PK Throw: Throwing an object using PK.
    • PK MagnetThis attracts all nearby objects and humans to the object currently in PK Hold. Used only in Path of the Furon.
    • PK Slam: Exclusive to Reprobed, while in this mode, Crypto can use objects in PK Hold against targets repeatedly or slam them into the ground to produce a destructive explosion.
    • Brain Extract: Using PK to make a target's head explode, killing them instantly and extracting their brainstem to collect their DNA.
    • Transmogrify: Using PK to break down objects into ammunition for his weapons. Introduced in Destroy All Humans! 2. In Path of the Furon and the remakes, Crypto can use this ability on humans, with the same result as Brain Extract.
  • Hypnotize: Allows Crypto to implant mental commands in humans to make them do his bidding to distract crowds, put them to sleep, or do mission-specific tasks in the first game. In Big Willy Unleashed, its default functions are distracting people and mission-centered tasks. Variations of this are listed below:
    • Forget: Resets a single human's awareness of Crypto. Used in Destroy All Humans! 2 and available in the remakes.
    • Free Love/Disco Fever: Forces a group of humans to dance, making them forget about Crypto. The former is used in Destroy All Humans! 2 and the latter in Path of the Furon respectively. In Reprobed, Free Love is found in the weapon wheel, yet is still treated like a mental ability and starting a party restores Body Snatch health to full.
    • Follow/Protect: Compels a civilian to follow you or a combatant to fight Crypto's enemies. Used in Destroy All Humans! 2 and in the first and second remakes.
  • Mind Flash: Allows Crypto to paralyze everyone in the world and completely lower the Alert Level. Can only be recharged by consuming human brainstems. Used only in Destroy All Humans! 2. In Reprobed, this ability is basically using Forget on a larger scale and it will recharge on its own after a moment of time.
  • Temporal Fist: The most advanced Furon mental ability. With guidance from the Master, this ability lets Crypto stop time itself. As Crypto trains, he can do more while using this power. Used only in Path of the Furon.

Disguise[]

Despite Crypto's lust for violence and destruction, there are times when direct assault is insufficient for the current mission. At times, he will need to disguise himself to escape danger by blending in with the population. With the right disguise, Crypto can also infiltrate restricted areas and deceive his enemies into doing what he wants.

  • Holobob: Used in Destroy All Humans!, the Holobob allows Crypto to project a holographic disguise that gradually drains concentration. Majestic agents are able to see through and penetrate this disguise if Crypto gets too close. This ability has been replaced with Body Snatch in the sequels because of its flaws.
  • Body Snatch: Used in subsequent games, Body Snatch allows Crypto to possess a human's body directly. Over time, the human host's health depletes, and once it has been reduced to zero, Crypto is forced out. Only in Path of the Furon can the victim's health can be recharged by using Cortex Scan on people.

Saucer[]

220px-Dah cryptoSaucer

The first Saucer.

SaucerII

The new Saucer.

The Saucer is Crypto's spaceship and his most effective tool against his enemies. It serves as his transportation across Earth and space and is armed with weapons of mass destruction to fight bigger threats, destroy buildings, and level whole towns. After the destruction of the Furon Mothership, the Saucer now serves as Crypto and Pox's primary method of transportation, complete with a cloning chamber, laboratory, and other resources.

In Path of the Furon, Crypto crashed the ship in front of the Space Dust casino after piloting it while under the influence. Pox has built a new and more advanced Saucer for him to pilot in this game.

A function that is only exclusive in the remakes, the Saucer's weapons can be fired from the front of the ship or below it.

Saucer Weapons[]

  • Death RayThe Saucer's standard weapon, the Death Ray, fires a superheated beam that can slowly destroy buildings and incinerate enemies on the ground. Like the Zap-O-Matic, it does not need ammo, but instead recharges between uses.
  • Sonic Boom: The Sonic Boom shoots powerful, anti-matter globules at targets, creating devastating shockwaves that cause damage and scatter any nearby objects. Requires ammo pickups.
  • Quantum Deconstructor: Crypto's most powerful weapon in the series, the Quantum Deconstructor fires a powerful quantum payload that explodes into a massive shockwave, vaporizing every object, person, and building in its radius. Usually requires ammo pickups, except in Big Willy Unleashed and Path of the Furon where it recharges between uses.

In addition to the standard weapons listed above, the Saucer will be outfitted with new weapons that appear in different games, as shown below:

  • Anti-Gravity Field: This weapon creates a small point of intense gravity, which pulls any objects, including humans, into it before exploding and destroying anything near it. Used only in Destroy All Humans! 2.
  • Electro-Cone: The Saucer's best anti-personnel weapon. It generates a highly charged electric field that generates a storm of lightning bolts at any and all ground objects and people beneath the Saucer. This weapon has a limited charge, needs to cool down for a moment after prolonged use, and does the most damage when flying near the ground. Appears only in Big Willy Unleashed.
  • Seeker Drones: This weapon locks onto and shoots homing missiles at airborne targets like helicopters, Nexo saucers, etc. The missiles are bright and presumably plasma/electricity or other energy-based weapons. Only appears in Path of the Furon.
  • Plasma Cannons: These are the miniguns of the Saucer. The cannons have a high rate of fire and can demolish buildings faster than the Death Ray. Found only in Path of the Furon.
  • Tornadotron: A weapon that allows Crypto to create and guide tornado storms. It can be used even while cloaked, letting him wreak havoc without revealing himself. Appears only in Path of the Furon.
  • Slurpmaster V8: Introduced in Reprobed, a remake of the second game. It basically works like the Abducto Beam in Path of the Furon, capable of sucking up humans like a vacuum to harvest DNA for the Gene Blender. In the Cult of Arkvoodle missions, the front view gives access to the Propagandator, a device that emits a beam to convert people to worship the Arkvoodle cult using a related object or person to focus the beam.

Other Functions[]

  • Abducto Beam: The Abducto Beam is practically a PK ability for the Saucer. It allows Crypto to pick up and throw people or objects, as well as other things. It also lets Crypto abduct humans, storing them in the abduction vault to have their DNA be experimented on through the Gene Blender to unlock upgrades for Crypto's mental powers. In Path of the Furon, the Abducto Beam can suck up many humans at once caught in the beam for instant DNA processing. Exclusive to the remakes, the Abducto Beam can be used to throw objects as projectiles against targets and buildings.
    • Drain: In the first game, the Saucer's hull could only be repaired by collecting special pickups. From the sequel onwards, you could use Drain to absorb health directly from other vehicles. In the remakes, Drain is used on non-abducted objects and can affect humans.
    • Transmogrify: Like the mental ability of the same name, this function allows Crypto to break down objects into ammunition for the Saucer. Appears from the second game onward. In the remakes, Crypto uses this ability on non-abducted objects and can also be used to extract human brains while he is still in the Saucer.
  • Cloak: Starting from the second game onward, the Saucer can use Cloak to become invisible to humans to avoid being targeted by enemy forces for a few moments. In Big Willy Unleashed, this function makes the Saucer turn into an advertising blimp, which can be customized with unlockable skins.
  • Repulse-O-Tron: Exclusive to the remakes, this defensive weapon lets Crypto destroy missiles at close range by emitting an energy field when it is close to impact. Otherwise, the missile will hit the Saucer.

Furon Cloning[]

With their superior biotechnology, Furons can clone themselves. Whenever Crypto is killed, the cloning chamber inside his Saucer brings him back to life as a clone with his memories intact. This grants him virtual immortality; he can never truly die so long as he has clone bodies at his disposal. In the remakes, this cloning technology also allows Crypto to change into different skins or make more of himself.

He can also use the cloning chamber to duplicate human beings as well, like to bring Natalya back to life after she was killed by Milenkov, even tampering with her DNA to make her more attracted to him, calling it "making a few adjustments."

Other Technology[]

Big Willy[]

Exclusive only to Big Willy Unleashed, Big Willy is a giant mech built by Pox using inefficient Earth machinery but armed with weapons comparable to the Saucer. Pox has placed one at the front of every Big Willy franchise, disguised as a harmless ornament.

Big Willy is virtually invulnerable thanks to a special alloy in his armor and has immense strength, his only weakness being his battery. To keep it charged, Crypto must find humans to extract their brains for the robot to eat, otherwise; it will shut down. When it shuts down, Big Willy's battery can be recharged by Crypto's electric weapons, like the Zap-O-Matic or Ball Lightning.

Big Willy is armed with three dangerous weapons, all of which drain the battery more:

  • Regurgitron: Allows Big Willy to spew acid from his mouth that destroys objects in its path. It is the robot's weakest weapon and only affects objects and vehicles that are in front of Big Willy.
  • Heat Beam: The only weapon that can be used while in motion. Big Willy shoots laser eye beams that can destroy buildings, but sustained use drains the battery faster.
  • Windbreaker: Its most powerful and outrageous weapon of all which emits a shockwave from Big Willy's behind. It can destroy buildings on contact but drains the battery drastically.
